Cook

We are looking for a cook for the kitchen at Vängården in Vännäsby. The kitchen produces approximately 700 portions daily for preschools, primary schools (preschool class to grade 6), elderly care, as well as meal boxes for people living at home.

The kitchen at Vängården is part of the municipality's catering department, where approximately 25 employees, distributed across three kitchens, work together to prepare good, varied, and nutritious meals for the municipality's students and citizens.

Responsibilities

In the role of cook, you will handle all typical tasks in a large-scale kitchen, such as cooking, planning, purchasing, preparation, and serving. You are also responsible for preparing special diets and texture-modified food.

The position involves working every fifth weekend, which also includes food delivery. Therefore, a valid B-driver's license is required. Collaboration between the kitchens in the catering department is important, meaning work may occasionally take place in other kitchens and with different work groups.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have upper secondary education in restaurant and large-scale cooking, or equivalent competence. Experience working in a large-scale kitchen is an advantage.

You have a genuine interest in food and meals and strive to provide good service with a professional and respectful attitude. It is important to you to contribute to a safe and positive dining experience for our users and customers.

You need to be proficient with computers, as orders, communication, and documentation are largely digital. You must also have good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

As a person, you are flexible, adaptable to changes, and able to handle new situations that arise at work. You thrive in a team environment and value good communication, as the work is done close to colleagues and is based on shared responsibility.
